STARTING OCTOBER 28TH 2006; the EPP Authorization Keys are required for .com, .net, .org, .info, .biz, .bz, .us, .com.cn, .net.cn, .org.cn, .cn, .kids.us, .com.tw, .org.tw, .idv.tw, .in, .co.in, .net.in, .org.in, .firm.in, .gen.in, .ind.in and .jobs names before a transfer order can be submitted.

The EPP key (Authorization code) is one of the safeguards against unauthorized transfers of domain name registrations and it protects your rights as a domain owner. The EPP key is required when transferring .com, .net, .org, .biz, .info and .us domain names. It is not possible to initiate a domain name transfer for these domains without an EPP code.

You have to obtain the Authorization keys (EPP) from your current registrar (the place where you purchased your domain)‚ before we can initiate a domain transfer for your domain.

Please note that this requirement is enforced by Verisign for .com and .net domains and is a requirement that we can not override.

If your domain is registered by CHROMEIS you can find the EPP key in your Customer’s area, My Account, Domain names. Next to the domain you are interested in there will be a button “Manage”. Following this link will provide you with all the information about your domain name including the EPP key. Here is a more detailed explanation about EPP key with screenshots on this matter.

If you are a CHROMEIS reseller, you can find the EPP key in your Reseller Area. Next to the domain you are interested in there will be a button “Manage”. Following this link will provide you with all the information about your domain name including the EPP key.

If your domain is NOT registered by CHROMEIS, you will need to contact your current registrar to obtain the EPP key before being able to initiate a domain transfer.  Please note that EPP codes are case-sensitive.

Your domain name should also meet all domain name transfer requirements before it can be transferred to CHROMEIS. Then you can initiate the transfer from your SiteGround Customer Area > Order tab > Domain Transfer.

If you are having issues with your host/registrar and you cannot obtain your EPP key, you may not be able to manage your domain and transfer it elsewhere. In such cases it may be best to use a new domain name for your website.

By signing up for an account at CHROME, you can get a free domain name for your website. What is more, as long as your account is hosted with us, your domain name will be renewed for free.

Last but not least, with each new hosting account at CHROMEIS you can have the website from your other host transferred to CHROMEIS for free. We’ll also make sure your site is configured to work properly on our servers.
